We have enjoyed exploring the story 'The Biggest Hole in the World'. In the story Charlie, his Dad and Doggo the dog are at the seaside. Charlie decides to dig the biggest hole he can in the sand, then suddenly he falls in. We follow as Charlie and Doggo travel through the different layers of the earth tackling pirates, dinosaurs, bugs and sea creatures in the oceans. We have been so busy ................
We have been exploring the theme 'All About Me'.
We are welcoming many new children this term so what better way to get to know everybody than exploring this topic over the first half term. We will be looking at ourselves, our families, our senses and where we live.
We will be exploring all area's of development through the topic and we hope your child enjoys all of the exciting activities we have planned.
Please feel free to complete any of the activities below, we would love to see them at preschool xx
During our last half term we are looking at the topic "In the Summertime". We are hoping the weather will join in with our topic and be lovely and sunny - fingers crossed!!
We have our Pirate Week w/c 2nd July where children can come into preschool dressed as pirates and take part in lots of Pirate themed activities over the whole week.
Our topic will be used to cover all areas of the curriculum for example looking at shells we will be promoting mathematical development by comparing shapes, sizes, sorting, counting how many we have all together. The options are endless.
Please have a go at some of the activities we have below and remeber we would love to see them at preschool!!
We are exploring the well loved story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' this half term. We will be looking closely at the life cycle of caterpillars with our very own real life caterpillars, we will get to see first hand the various stages in the life cycle process. We will also look closely at the life cycle of a frog with real tadpoles at playgroup.
This particular story enables the children to develop skills in a variety of areas, for example, counting the fruit that the caterpillar eats, talking about healthy eating, looking at and learning the days of the week.
We look forward to an exciting half term with many learning opportunities.
